The Orphans of Teso

October 6, 2011

Welcome to the new home of the Orphans of Teso

Since June of this year, our commitment to partner with Childrens Hope Chest to love and care for the Orphans and vulnerable children located in the Teso tribal region of war torn Uganda has taken us on an incredible journey.

Today, God has provided sponsors for more than 100 of the 119 children being cared for at the Ogoloi Carepoint and we continue to have new, willing sponsors raise their hands each week. What a blessing! And in a few short weeks we will have profiles available for the more than 225 children being cared for at the Bukedea Carepoint a 2 hour drive away from Ogoloi.

We are thrilled to be returning to Bukedea and Ogoloi in Decemeber with a small team of sponsors to get to know our Ugandan kids better and to learn more about the potential development opportunities that we can open up for the children and people of Ogoloi and Bukedea. Upon our return we will be excited to begin fund raising efforts to relocate the Ogoloi CarePoint to its permanent location and begin construction on the CarePoint facilities- beginning with a drinking well for clean water and a small kitchen for the daily meal preparation for the kids. Bukdea is also in desperate need of a well in the current CarePoint facility.

We are incredibly grateful to everyone who has committed to support us in this endeavor to care for Gods orphans and widows – the least of these – his children. Please consider following this website for future posts and updates. Several of us will be blogging from this site to keep everyone abreast on our collective progress in Bukedea and Ogoloi.

We also encourage you to please follow the Orphans of Teso Facebook page.

Thank you…from the bottom of our (and their) hearts.

“Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you?  When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?  The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’ – Matthew 25: 37-40
